I am a PhD student in the Mechanical Engineering Department at GMU since Spring 2026. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. My research centers on microfluidic electrochemical sensing systems for the detection of viruses and clinically relevant biomarkers. My work explores the intersection of microscale transport phenomena and electrochemical signal transduction to develop compact, high-sensitivity diagnostic technologies for real-world healthcare applications. My research interests further extend to lab-on-a-chip platforms, biosensing technologies, flexible electronics and the development of next-generation point-of-care diagnostic devices. Outside of the lab, I enjoy traveling and collecting cufflinks inspired by the heraldic sigils from the series Game of Thrones.

My research focuses on the design and development of microfluidic and microscale systems, with an emphasis on electrochemical platforms for biomedical applications. My work also focuses on lab-on-a-chip and microfluidic diagnostic technologies for fast and sensitive detection of disease biomarkers in biological samples, with the goal of enhancing point-of-care diagnostics and early disease detection.
I also have expertise in multiphysics simulation and finite element modeling (FEM) for studying coupled physical processes in microscale and nanoscale engineering systems.

Master of Applied Science Students

I am a masters of applied student from Canada visiting Rezai Lab to complete my studies. My research focuses on developing a microfluidic electrochemical sensor for specific and selective lithium detection in black mass leachates. I am currently working on developing a Finite Element Model for this work.
